Anna O'Connell Obituary
"Nancy," Anna M. (nee Shanahan), 82, of Emerson, since 2004 (formerly of Dumont since 1962).
A retired secretary, Nancy was employed by Inganamort Real Estate in Dumont. She was a former member of St. Mary's Choir in Dumont for many years, and a proud member of the Bergen Catholic H.S. shows. After relocating to Emerson, Nancy became a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, Haworth, where she was a member of its prayer group. Born in New York City, she passed away peacefully on December 18, 2012 at home.
She will be sadly missed by her devoted husband of 61 years, Arthur J. O'Connell, her loving children; Kevin P. and his wife Nancy, Edward A. O'Connell, Eileen Andriano and her husband Anthony, and Nancy O'Connell. A great joy in her life were her cherished grandchildren; Timothy, Brian, Melissa, Meghan, Marian, and Jaclyn. Mrs. O'Connell was predeceased by one sister, Eileen Delaney.
Her family and friends are grateful to have had Nancy in our lives. She was an exceptional person and we will carry her kindness forward.
The Funeral Mass will be offered at 9:30 A.M. on Friday, December 21, 2012 at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Haworth. Anyone attending the funeral mass is respectfully asked to gather at the church by 9:15 A.M. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Frech Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Institute for Educational Achievement, 381 Madison Avenue, New Milford, NJ 07646 will be appreciated by the family.
