Anthony Librera

LIBRERA
Anthony, 91, of Elmwood Park, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016. Born in Garfield, Anthony had lived in Elmwood Park since 1964. He was a graduate of the Paterson Radio and Technology School and was a supervisor for Singer-Kearfott, aerospace guidance and navigation, in West Paterson for 32 years retiring in 1988. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in General Patton's 3rd Army in WWII, fought with the 90th Division, 359th Infantry Regiment, in the Battle of the Bulge, Ardennes Central Europe Campaign in Rhineland, and was awarded a Bronze Star, EAME Campaign medal with 3 battle stars, combat infantryman badge, WW II Victory Medal, and good conduct medal. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church, Garfield, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 2863, Garfield, Garfield VFW Benda Roehrich Post 2867, Elmwood Park Homeowners Association, and former member of the Garfield Elks Club, Lodge 2267. Anthony was the beloved husband of the late Irene (nee Puzio) for 64 years, devoted father of Leslie Glodava, and her husband Stephen, of Elmwood Park, Laurie Librera and her fiance Frank Jiosne, of Clifton, Lea Ann Librera and Lue Ann Librera of Elmwood Park, and dear brother of Marie Caccavella of Salt Lake City, UT., and the late Joseph, Charles, William, and Frank Librera, Marge La Greca, and Josephine Cagno. Funeral services for immediate family were private with arrangements by the Kamienski Funeral Home of Garfield. A memorial service is being planned. Visit kamienskifuneralhomes.com
