The Horatio Alger Association mourns the passing of Arthur E. Imperatore, Sr., 1982 Horatio Alger Award recipient. A successful businessman and generous philanthropist, Mr. Imperatore was a longtime supporter of the Association and was dedicated to advancing its mission of ensuring the American dream for future generations. He played a key role in moving the Association's headquarters to Washington, D.C. because he strongly believed in the importance of civic education. Mr. Imperatore's contributions helped provide young people the resources needed to overcome adversity and pursue a college degree.
We are grateful to Mr. Imperatore for his support of our organization and extend our deepest condolences
to his family and friends.
