Barbara Birkevaag

Birkevaag, Barbara- of Ridgefield, NJ passed away October 19, 2017 in Scituate Ma. Loving daughter to Carl and Dorothy Birkevaag. Cherished sister of David Birkevaag, his wife Mary of Scituate. Beloved aunt to Jennifer, Samantha, Caitlin and Stephanie. She will be lovingly remembered by her aunt and uncle Jean and Richard Tomlin of Florida, cousins Pam Luzi and Scott Tomlin as well as her close friend Judy Korolewicz and her many friends at Englewood Hospital.

Barbara was a proud Orthopedic Certified Registered Nurse for 35 years at Englewood Hospital in New Jersey. She had a passion for music that was shown through her piano playing. She was known for her love of golden retrievers as well.

Visitation will be held on Friday October 27, 2017 from 4pm-8pm at Blackley Funeral Home, 809 Broad Avenue Ridgefield NJ 07657. Graveside service will take place on Saturday October 28, 2017 at 11am at English Neighborhood Reformed Church Cemetery in Ridgefield. Donations can be made to Ridgefield Memorial H.S. Band, 555 Walnut Street Ridgefield, NJ 07657 Attention: Barbara Birkevaag Memorial Fund.

Deepest condolences to Mitchell and family. So very sorry to hear of your loss. Barbara took excellent care of my daughter at Englewood Hospital when she had to have surgery a few years ago. I will always remember Barbara's kindness and the prompt attention she provided. May she rest peacefully...

Barbara was a very good nurse. She worked days I worked evenings as a unit secretary but the little time I spent with her was rewarding. She always stayed late to finish her shift. My condolences to her family. She will truly be missed.
