Barbara A. Michaelson

MICHAELSON Barbara A., 74, a longtime resident of Pompton Plains, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the Center for Hospice of N.J. at St. Joseph's Hospital in Wayne.Born in Morristown, Barbara was the daughter of Herbert and Cora Wildey. She was one of the first females to go through the Morris County Police Academy in the early 70's. Barbara retired as a police dispatcher and special police officer for the Pequannock Township Police Department.She is survived by her sons, Kevin James Michaelson and his wife Carol, Keith Paul Michaelson and his wife Luisa, and Paul David Michaelson and his wife Penny; her brothers, Herbert Cornelius Wildey and Roy Wildey; and nine grandchildren. Barbara was predeceased by her brother James Wildey and sister Ann Sandelli.Visiting hours are Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, 781 Newark Pompton Turnpike at Route 23, Pompton Plains. A funeral service will be held 11 am Friday at the First Reformed Church of Pompton Plains.
