Beatrice Bolan Obituary

BOLAN
Beatrice Julia (nee Szanto), passed away February 17, 2016 in Tucson, Arizona.
A long-time resident of New Jersey, Bea was a vibrant and daring woman, who tackled each day's opportunities with a spirit and zeal that inspired all who were graced with her sparkling eyes and knowing smile. Never one to be deterred by life's inevitable setbacks, Bea's mental and physical strength betrayed her petite frame, yet carried her through life with an insatiable quest to learn and grow. After raising four loving and successful children, Bea twice traveled to China and became a student of Taijiquan, studying under Master Jau, Tsung Hwa, and Master Tsu Kuo Shih. At the time of her passing, she was proudly studying the Chinese language-a lifelong goal. She was a Tai Chi instructor and student at the Hunterdon Health and Wellness Center and Senior Health Services Community Center, both in NJ, and also taught and learned the art of Tai Chi at the Chinese Cultural Center in Arizona, along with other venues throughout Tucson.
Bea was predeceased by her parents, Stephen Santo and Mary Haluska Santo, her beloved sister Marie Viszoki, and her husband, William Bolan. She is survived by her brother, Robert Santo and his wife Helen (Dolly), of Little Falls, New Jersey, and four children: Dr. Robert Kassa of Bangor, Maine; Randy Kassa of Warren, Maine; Kim Kassa Murray, of Hewitt, New Jersey; and Lt. Col. Scott Kassa (Ret.) of Tucson, Arizona. A great circle of loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren also remember this remarkable woman and mourn her passing.
Memorial contributions may be made in Bea's memory to the Chinese Cultural Center Senior's Program, 1288 West River Road, Tucson, Arizona 85704.
