Betty Weinberger Obituary

WEINBERGER Betty, passed peacefully at home on October 10 at age 77 with loved ones by her side. Betty and her surviving soul mate, George Weinberger, were married for 56 years. Born in the Bronx, Betty and George moved their family to Teaneck in 1967, later venturing to San Diego in 1985. She was deeply involved with many charitable organizations. Her passion for political and social justice is carried on through family members. A loving mother and grandparent, she is survived by her son Lawrence, his wife Judi, their children Gregory and Daniel; and her daughter Ilene, her life and civil union partner, Patricia and their children, Elizabeth and Lauren. Betty was predeceased by her siblings Susan and Paul. Surviving relatives include her siblings Rachael, Bud and Harry, plus sisters- and brothers-in-law Jerry, Laura, Judi, Laurie and Ellie and dozens of their children and grandchildren. Family and friends will gather for a celebration of Betty's life and inurnment at El Camino Memorial Park in San Diego. Betty has requested donations be made to the March of Dimes or to Rachel's Women's Center of San Diego (www.ccdsd.org).
