Charles BATES Obituary

BATES Charles "Chuck", passed away on Sunday, June 27th, 2010 at Chilton Memorial Hospital, he was 71 years of age.Born and raised in the Berkshire Valley section of Jefferson Twp., he moved to Hewitt 37 years ago.Mr. Bates retired from Picatinny Arsenal as a fireman, he then worked for the W. Milford Board of Education and Battinelli Garden Center, Hewitt. He was a US Army Veteran. He was an Exempt member of the Jefferson Twp. Fire Co. #1.Predeceased by his parents: Daniel E. Bates, Sr. and Katherine Search Bates; and his sisters: Patty Thompson and Margaret Bostedo; and brother: Raymond.Survived by his wife of 36 years: Yvonne (Gallant); eleven brothers and sisters: Daniel E. Jr., Bill, Eileen, Mauriel Thompson and Gerald, all of Berkshire Valley; Betty Haycock of Milton; Jane Kish of Randolph; John of Cairo, MO; Mauritta Estler of Mine Hill; Donald of Netcong; Joan Fogg of Thermal, CA.Also survived by three generations of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday only from 9-11 AM at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton. Funeral service will be held at 11 AM following the visitation. Interment will follow at Berkshire Valley Presbyterian Cemetery, Jefferson Twp.Offer condolences at www.BerminghamFH.com

SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. PEGGY FINDELY CALLED US SHE HAD READ IN THE NEWSPAPER. WE COULD HAVE COME TO THE VISITATION WE WERE IN ROCKAWAY MOST OF THE DAY.
