Charles Bellon Obituary

BELLON Charles, 93, of Westwood, NJ, on Monday, July 28, 2008. Charles was born in New York City to his late parents, Andrew and Lena Bellon. Charles proudly served the Borough of Westwood in many capacities. He was a Trustee of the Westwood Swim Club, 1963-1983, Trustee for the Westwood Board of Education, 1964-1966, Councilman for the Borough of Westwood, 1968-1976, Mayor of Westwood, 1976-1983, Trustee for the Westwood Public Library, 1992-2004 and Administrator for Westwood Parking Authority, 1984-2008. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving his country proudly from 1941-1946. Charles is survived by his loving wife, Helen (nee Asciutto). Devoted father of Andrew Bellon, Lorraine Cella and Charles Bellon, Jr. Cherished grandfather of Richard and Julie Cella, Hannah, Raymond and Jared Bellon. Dear brother of Rosalie Smith. The family will gather with their relatives and friends for a Funeral Liturgy at St. Andrew's R.C. Church on Thursday at 10AM. Interment will follow at Westwood Cemetery. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Wednesday, 2-4&7-9PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made in Charles' name to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 560 Sylvan Avenue, Englewood Cliffs, NJ 07632.
