Claire Wiegand-Beckmann Obituary

WIEGAND-BECKMANN Claire, 80, former resident of Ramsey and Mahwah, died November 10th in FL. She was born in Barre, VT.on December 29, 1926. She taught 3rd grade at Mary Hubbard School in Ramsey. She loved antiques and will be remembered for her discovery of a signed 1795 Thomas Seymour card table which later sold for a record amount at a Sotheby's auction. She is survived by her children, Kenneth Wiegand (Sally) of Allendale, NJ.; Trudi Puffer (John) of Lee, NH.; and Lisa Ferguson (Thomas) of Palm Beach, FL.; and their father, Herbert Wiegand of Boxboro, MA.; four grandchildren, and former husband Avery Beckmann. A memorial service will be held at her summer house in Johnsburg, NY. next spring.
