Daniel Jutkiewicz Obituary
JUTKIEWICZ
Daniel J., 61, died on Feb, 20, 2014 in the Hackensack University Medical Center.
The funeral will be from the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny on Monday at 9:30 AM A funeral mass will be offered in St. Stephen's Church, Kearny at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visiting is on Sunday (today) from 2 to 6 PM. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.thiele-reid.com.
Danny was born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, PA. then lived in Rutherford before moving to Kearny 18 years ago.
Mr. Jutkiewicz was a Health Insurance & Employee Benefit Specialist for Benefits Solutions in Wayne for the last 11 years as well as a member of the New Jersey Association of Health Underwriters. He was an ambassador for the Tri-county Chamber of Commerce in Wayne, NJ.
He served as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, C.C.D instructor and a member of the Parish Council all at St. Stephen's Church. He also volunteered at the Archdiocesan Youth Retreat Center in Kearny during Rejoice Retreats. During the holidays, Dan would feed the homeless with Fr. Benedict Groeschel and the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal in the Bronx, NY. He coached girl's softball for Kearny Recreation. Danny was also a constant entertainer singing and playing guitar.
He is survived by his wife Susan (Leahy) and daughter Jessica Suzanne Jutkiewicz and her boyfriend Daniel Lockard; siblings Ann Marie Chirco and John "Jack" Jutkiewicz; son-in-law of Julia (McCurley) and Jerry "Skeeter" Leahy; brother-in-law of Jane and Chris Souza, William and Kimberly Leahy and Anne and John McCaffery.
He was the uncle of Thomas, Christopher, Allyson, Justin, Paige, Julia, Keara, Brooke and Johnny.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals at www.cmnwi.org.

when I read the obituary yearly when this pops up....I am in awe at what a wonderful human being Danny came to be...knew him in HS....especially from the Senior Play...Danny say a prayer for me that I can become a better man.......Gary Basilo...Have never ending peace and joy

I am always amazed to read Danny's obit....was a classmate in HS with Danny....he had a great laugh and made his mark in our Senior Play "Music Man"...part of the barber shop quartet... Senior Yr...Saddle Brook HS...but am most amazed at the work he did in the Catholic Church....a life well lived

I knew Danny when we were in Saddle Brook HS; the singing and guitar mentioned in his obituary brought memories of Danny, Jimmy, Manny, and Mike ia the Barbershop Quartet for HS Senior Play "Music Man"...all enjoyable memories....but his work with the Catholic Church stood out to me seeing the kind of adult Danny had become....God bless him...and the charitable works he did....traveling to the Bronx and helping Fr. Benedict had to have been life enhancing and changing for Danny...Danny say a prayer for me...I can cetainly use it

I was very pleased to get this reminder. I went to high school with Danny, and then we both went our ways until I was made aware of his passing. Danny was a wonderful person in high school, but it appears to me really became and incredible humanitarian and Servant to our Lord as an adult. His service to the church was a wonderful gift he gave to others while he was here on this earth. May Danny be experiencing a joy that is incomprehensible to the rest of us living on this earth, and may all who loved him be fortified by his wonderful memory

Dear Suan & Jessica, I am so sorry to hear of Danny's passing. He will be forever missed. He was such a giving & helpful human being. Almost forty years have passed since I labeled you my best friend. Nothing has changed. You will always be my best friend.
