Dennis James Caufield, 69, passed away on June 28, 2021, surrounded by his family at Hackensack University Medical Center. Dennis was born August 21, 1951 to Arthur and Sophie Caufield. He grew up in North Bergen with his younger sister Allison and married his high school sweetheart Dorothy Sherry in 1976. In 1987 they welcomed twin girls, Jackie and Kristen into this world. He worked hard as a pipe-fitter for Local 274, becoming a foreman and then a general foreman.

Dennis epitomized the family man, putting the needs of his wife and daughters first. He was always thinking of ways to surprise others and make them feel special. Throughout his life he was always ready to help anyone who needed it.

Travel was a big part of Dennis' life. Trips to Europe, Cruises, and Cousins Trips to Ireland, Italy, and Germany will leave indelible memories. Dennis was a child at heart, loved trips to Disney, and celebrating the holidays. He was the consummate host at the many holiday parties, creating Easter baskets for all his guests, serving more food than anyone could eat, and offering leftovers to take home.

Dennis is survived by his wife Dorothy (nee Sherry), his daughters Jackie and Kristen Caufield, a grand-dog Farley, and his sister, Allison Spaulding and her husband Jack. The wake will be held at Blackley Funeral Home, 809 Broad Avenue, Ridgefield, New Jersey on Friday, July 2, from three o'clock to seven o'clock. The Funeral gathering will be at Blackley Funeral Home on Saturday, July 3, at 10:00 AM followed by a burial at Ridgefield Cemetery, 1040 Edgewater Avenue, Ridgefield, NJ. Everyone is invited to celebrate Dennis' life at a repast to follow.
