Dora Canal

CANAL Dora E. (nee Olarte), of Hackensack, died on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at the age of 76. Born in Columbia. She came to the United States in 1956. She was a teacher's assistant for the Kindergarten Class at St. Francis of Assisi School for many years, a Parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church in Hackensack, a member of their Pre-Cana group, Eucharistic Minister and one of the original founders of the Spanish Committee of St. Francis R. C. Church Hackensack. Beloved wife of Moises "Papi" Canal of 54 years. Dearest daughter of the late Jose "Papa Abuelo" Olarte and Josefa "Mama Jose" (nee Amador). Devoted mother of Jaime M. Canal and his wife Marilyn, Nancy L. Figueroa and her husband Mike and Moises J. Canal and his wife Diona. Cherished grandmother of Matthew, Amanda. Stephanie, Victoria, SSgt Miguel and his wife Jennifer, LCpl Christopher, David, Keith, Anthony, Michael, Joseph, and Amber Marie, great- grandmother of Christian Moises. The Funeral, on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at 8:45 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, NJ. The Mass of Christian Burial, 10 AM, at St. Francis R.C. Church Hackensack. Interment, George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, Paramus. The Family will receive friends on Monday from 24 and 7-9 PM.
