Earl Emil Baer

Earl Emil Baer, surrounded by his wife, Mary, and 4 generations of loving family, died peacefully at home in Kutztown, PA on May 27th, 2017. He was 92 years of age.

Mr. Baer was born on August 28th, 1924 in Fairview, NJ to his parents, Emil and Grace Baer. He was a graduate of Dumont High School, earned a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from New York University and worked as a Structural Engineer in New York City and NJ. As a Veteran of WWII, he served honorably in the 155th Infantry Regiment 31st Division, stationed in New Guinea and the Southern Philippines.

He married Mary Christine McIlroy of Ridgewood, NJ in 1948, raised his Family in Upper Saddle River, NJ and enjoyed 68 years of marriage. He is survived by his sons, Lawrence and Curtis, daughter Janet, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Baer will be laid to rest at the Old Stone Church Cemetery in Upper Saddle River, NJ, where he was a member for 60 years. Due to his love and caring for animals, memorial donations may be made to The Sanctuary at Haafsville, 901 Nestle Way, Breinigsville, PA, 18031.
