Eileen Goff

- - Eileen Goff, 82, passed away on August 3, 2019, at Westchester Medical Center after a brief illness. She was a woman of remarkable warmth, generosity, dignity, and accomplishment.

A full-time homemaker while her sons were younger, Eileen's contribution to the larger world began when she started volunteering with seniors with disabilities. She began her professional career developing accessible recreation programs and was the founding executive director of Heightened Independence and Progress, a large agency which helps individuals with disabilities achieve increased independence. After many years of service, she retired as the CEO of HIP in 2017.

Eileen was an avid adventure-seeker whose life was enriched by travel and by outdoor activities, especially cross country skiing. Her generosity was unbounded. Without any desire to draw attention to herself, she quietly did so much to make the lives of so many so much better.

Eileen's greatest joy was her family. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Eileen was the heart of her family. She raised two sons and showered love on their families, all of whom will miss her dearly. Eileen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ethan. She is survived by her two sons, Andy and his wife Linda and Danny and his fiancée Leslie, as well as her two granddaughters, Sarah and Lauren.

Memorial contributions made out to Heightened Independence and Progress can be sent to HIP, Attention: Trish Carney, 131 Main St, Suite 120, Hackensack, NJ 07601. They will be placed in the Eileen Goff Legacy Fund.

Funeral services for Eileen Goff will be held at Gutterman and Musicant Jewish Funeral Directors, 402 Park St, Hackensack NJ on Monday, August 5, 2019, at 1:00 PM.
