Eugene Hrabarchuk Obituary

HRABARCHUK Eugene, MD, 87 of Cedar Grove on January 11, 2008. Dr. Eugene K. Hrabarchuk was born on August 29, 1920 in Ternopol, Ukraine. After graduating from the regional high school and college, he attended the University of Munich, Germany, and in 1950, obtained his medical degree. On October 15, 1950, Eugene married Lydia M. Kleparchuk. The new married couple then honeymooned in Niagara Falls, and settled in northern New Jersey, spending the last 35 years in Cedar Grove, NJ. Eugene dedicated himself to a very full and enriching medical career in the United States. He performed his residency at St. Mary's Hospital in Passaic, New Jersey, where he would continue to serve for 50 years. Eugene also practiced in St. James Hospital for 30 years and Clara Maass Memorial Hospital for 40 years. As well as dedicating his life to serving his patients, he was an active member of the community; he acted as Chairman of Church Building Fund Committee, for St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Catholic Church, in Glen Spey, NY, and was a member of multiple organizations, including the Veteran's Administration for 28 years, the Ukrainian Medical Association of North America, and was a Life Member of the American Psychiatric Association. Eugene was the father of three children, Eugene, Romana, and Irene, and grandfather of four: Michael, Melania, Kalyna, and Eugene. Funeral from the Marrocco Memorial Chapel 470 Colfax Avenue Clifton on Saturday at 8:45 AM. - St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church - 9:30 AM. Interment St. Andrew's Cemetery - So. Bound Brook.
