Gerrit Tas Obituary
Born in Vlaardingen, Netherlands, he came to the U.S. in 1954 settling in Totowa. He was a machinist for Nabisco, Inc., Fair Lawn for 15 years before retiring in 1991. Van Der Tas was a member of the Bakery & Confectionery Union. He was also a member of the F. & A.M., Lodge #305, Clifton. He also loved to travel.
Husband of the former Antonia "Toni" Hanswyk of Totowa. Father of Reini Polzer and her husband Bill of Montville. Grandfather of Lisa D'Amato and her husband Stephen of Denville. Great grandfather of Luke Avery D'Amato. Brother of Aat Van Der Tas and Winston Van Der Tas both of the Netherlands. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: Festa Memorial Funeral Home, Totowa.
