Giuseppe MARTINO Obituary

MARTINO Giuseppe V., of South Hackensack died on Saturday April 17, 2010 at the age of 81. He was born in Alia, Sicily and came to the United States in 1963. Joe was loved by many friends and family he will be greatly missed, especially for his sense of humor, smile and his family values. He always put family and friends first. Prior to retiring in 1989, he was a Mason for various labor unions throughout New Jersey. A member of the I.A.F.F., He was a member of the Fratelli D'Italia and the Maria SS. Delle Grazie, both of Hackensack. He was a parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church in Hackensack. Beloved husband of Francesca (nee Ricotta). Loving father of Serena Martino of South Hackensack and Maria Gaglioti and her husband Paul of Warren, NJ. Cherished grandfather of Paul and Joseph Gaglioti. Dearest brother of Rosa Amico and her husband Vincent of Hackensack, Domenica Drago and her husband Joseph of Livingston, NJ. And the late Giovanni Martino and his wife Angela of Hackensack. Brother-in-law of Salvatore and Carmela Ricotta of Maywood. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends. The Funeral on Wednesday, April 21, at 8:30 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. The Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis R.C. Church, 50 Lodi Street. Hackensack, at 9:45 AM. Interment will follow at Fairview Mausoleum Hackensack. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Giuseppe's memory to: Gilda's Club Northern NJ, 575 Main Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601.
