Gregory Shadek Obituary
Gregory of Alpine passed away on March 13, 2016. Loving son of Larry and Pat (nee Lewis). Beloved brother of Mark and his wife Caitlin and Chris. Devoted uncle of Logan Mark Shadek. Also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins who meant so much to Gregory and played an important unmeasurable role in his life. Gregory was a 2008 graduate of Tenafly High School. He graduated from St. John's University in 2013. Interment private. Memorial Mass Saturday 11:00 AM St. John's R.C. Church Bergenfield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to: For the Special Needs for Michael J. Stinelli, P.O. Box 436, Alpine, NJ 07620. Arrangements by the Barrett Funeral Home of Tenafly.

Dearest Pat, Larry, Mark, Caitlin and Chris,
Life is not measured by its length but by the amount of love given and received. I know that Greg was adored by his family and returned that love abundantly.
It was a short life, but one in which he had many accomplishments. He proved his naysayers wrong in his high school classrooms, on the football field, and by graduating from St. Johns. He had a wonderful girlfriend, Jules.
I wouldn't be surprised if he chooses to be born again into the family he loved so much. Meanwhile, his sweet loving spirit is here with you wishing you peace, as do Bob and I.

I was saddened to learn of Greg's death. So young. So tragic. We shared a greatt deal during our three years together at THS. He had his struggles but made it through. So proud to learn he graduated St. John's as you must have been. I'll remember him and you in my prayers.

Greg has been a member of our family since he was a junior at Tenafly High School. No holiday and birthday celebration was complete without him at the table, right next Jules. We loved Greg like our own and he will always have that special place in our hearts. He is now with God and finally in peace. Our hearts are heavy and we will continue to love and miss him.
Our heartfelt condolences to Pat, Larry and their whole family. Please find comfort in the knowledge that he is now free and peaceful. His life path on earth was short but it was also a difficult one. Now he is free.
