Hazel W. Censullo

Cresskill - Hazel W. Censullo, 100+, a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away Monday, July 19, 2021. She was surrounded by friends and family at Sunrise of Cresskill, where she was a resident for three years. Hazel was born in Boyero, Co. on November 18, 1920. Hazel spent her childhood in Maquon, Illinois and graduated from Western Illinois University with her teaching degree. After one year of teaching she joined the U.S. Army serving three years during WWII. While stationed at Fort Totten Military Base, she met the love of her life, Frank. They married and raised six children in New Jersey. After her husband's death in 1968, Hazel continued to raise her children while teaching Special Education in the Dumont Public Schools, where she retired in 1982. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank Censullo, in 1968, and son, Michael Censullo, in 1975. Hazel is survived by her children, Francis Censullo and wife Teresa, Virginia Quinn (nee Censullo), Pamela and wife Barbara, Elisa Wallace (nee Censullo) and Jesse Censullo and wife Lezli. Cherished grandmother of Meredyth Censullo (Paul Frameli), Marla Looper (Brian), Robert T. Quinn, Jr. (Nancy), Megan Q. Reicherz (Philip), Brandon F. Quinn (Lisa), Michael W. Quinn (Nina), Thomas J. Quinn (Kim), Blythe D. Wallace, Jesse T. Wallace (Elizabeth), Yale Han (Elizabeth) and 17 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, her faithful companion dog Phanni and many friends… friends were family to Hazel and she had a lot of Friends & Family. Visitation will be held Friday July 23, 2021 from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Barrett Leber Funeral Home, 148 Dean Drive, Tenafly, NJ 07670.
