Herbert Bloom Obituary

Herbert A. Bloom

Herbert A. Bloom, son of Ruth and Leon Bloom of Paterson, passed away on June 24th. Mr. Bloom was born in Paterson, lived in Scarsdale, NY for 20 years while married to the former Eleanor Levitan, and most recently resided at Van Dyk Park Place in Hawthorne. Mr. Bloom was graduated from East Side High School in Paterson and from Rutgers University in Newark. He served in the US military. He was a CPA associated for many years with Best Mfg. Co. in New York City. Until recently he worked at Covenant House in Newark.

Mr. Bloom was well travelled and had many interests. He collected artifacts from all over the world and had museum quality pieces in his home. His avocations included sculpting and playing the bagpipes. He was a member of Temple Emanuel of North Jersey and of Consolidated Lodge No.31, F. & A.M. He is survived by his children, Arthur Bloom of Washington, DC, and Susan Bloom of NYC, and his sister Adeline Some of Livingston. A graveside service will be 11:00 AM today at Congregation B'Nai Israel Cemetery, Midland Avenue, Saddle Brook, NJ. Arrangements are by Louis Suburban Chapel, Fair Lawn, NJ.
