Herbert Maas Obituary

MAAS Herbert of Mt. Arlington died Thursday November 15, 2007 at Merry Heart Care Center, Succasunna. He was 86. An Army veteran, he was born in Prospect Park. He lived in North Haledon and Port Richey FL before moving to Mt. Arlington 13 years ago. Before retiring, he was a process engineer with Wright Aeronautical Corp. in Woodridge for 30 years. He was a volunteer fireman in Prospect Park (Passaic County), former police commissioner/councilman in North Haledon and a part time patrolman. Beloved husband of Elsie (nee: Meyer). Devoted father of Bette Jean Taylor of Hopatcong, Carol Stephan of Franklin Lakes and the late Susan who passed away in 2001. Loving grandfather of five grandchildren and cherished great grandfather of four great grandchildren. Dear uncle of nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral service on Sunday November 18 at 8:30 PM at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home 150 Landing Road Landing. Visiting will be held in the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. For those desiring memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Market Street Mission, 9 Market Street, Morristown, NJ 07960. (973-538-0431).
