Inez Viola Billing

Inez Viola Billing (nee Mattson), age 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 13, 2018, in her home after a short illness surrounded by her family. Inez was born in Kearny, NJ to Judith and Sven Mattson both from Lysekil, Sweden. She lived in Montville Twp. for 43 years before moving to Frelinghuysen Twp. in 2006. She worked at the Metropolitan Life Ins. Co. in NYC and Scandia Manufacturing Co. in No. Arlington, NJ, where she met her husband Marty. Inez also worked for the Montville Twp. MUA. She loved reading and spending time with her family and friends. She took great pride of her Swedish heritage and enjoyed going to Vasa Home Park and was a 70 year member of Gothiod Lodge No. 486 of the Vasa Order of America. She was married to her loving husband, Martin (predeceased 1998) for 44 years. She was survived by her loving family: her two daughters, Barbara Scalone and Lore Billing; her grandson, the "Apple of her Eye" and whom she adored, Giorgio Martin Scalone; her sons-in-law, Carmelo Scalone and Paul Uhl (predeceased 2005); her sister, Inga-Britt Johnson and husband, Alfred; nieces, nephews and dear friends who will greatly miss her. A private memorial service was held.
