Irene Blaustein Obituary
Fort Lee - Irene K. Blaustein died on December 2, 2018 having lived and worked in Fort Lee her entire adult life. She grew up in Washington Heights, NY and was a graduate of Hunter High School and Hunter College where she majored in mathematics. She loved her years at Hunter College and remained loyal to the Alumni Association.
Predeceased by husband Jules, she is survived by her sister Joan, daughter Janet, and son Steven. She proudly had two granddaughters Ariel and Alana.
Irene led a very active life as a consummate junior high math teacher in Fort Lee for 31 years and then 3 years on the Fort Lee board of education.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, Dec 5 at Cedar Park/Beth El Cemetery, Forest Avenue, Paramus, NJ. Memorial donations in memory of Irene may be made to the ASPCA or any Alzheimer's Association.
Arrangements were by Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home

I was very saddened to learn of Irene's passing. She was my 7th grade math teacher but more importantly, she was my next door neighbor throughout my childhood. Her daughter Janet and I had many, many adventures together.
I hope memories of a long life well lived will comfort the family and friends.
My sympathy to all.

Mrs. Blaustein was my 7th grade math teacher more than 45 years ago. She was funny and I did well, thank G-d. May her neshamah have an aliyah, and may she be a melitzer yosher.
