James Christie Obituary
James T., age 92, of Toms River, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick.
Born in Passaic, he moved to Toms River in 1961. James was employed as a Mechanic for the Department of Transportation in Toms River prior to his retirement. James proudly served his country in the Marine Corps during WWII, on Iwo Jima where he received a Purple Heart. He was a member of the DAV in Toms River, The American Legion, John Wesley Taylor Post #232 in Barnegat, The Pleasant Plains First Aid Squad and Marine Corps Heritage Foundation.
James was predeceased by his wife Mary E. Christie in 2004. Surviving are his son James A. Christie and his daughters, Mary L. Christie and Jayne E. Christie all of Toms River. Also surviving is his sister Elizabeth Bloom of Clifton.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 7th from 1-3 and 6-8 PM and Friday 9-10 AM with a religious service beginning at 10 AM at "The Family Owned" Carmona-Bolen Home For Funerals, 412 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. Burial will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River. Condolences can be sent to:
