Please allow me to reminisce. I am the mother of two THS graduates. Our son went off to Harvard and our daughter went to Stanford from Teaneck High School when Mr. Delaney was the moving force and inspiration for all of his students. My children are both physicians now and our son, Woody, took THS to the State High School Chess Championships in the 1990s.
All the students thought Mr. Delaney was part Eskimo because there were NEVER any `snow days´ at THS students. He was interested only on educating his students and their intellectual and mutual fellowship as THS students.
Since Mr. Delaney´s departure from THS, there has never been anyone of his stature, commitment and dedication to the students of This is absolutely delicious to let you know that I oh really that´s why so good Teaneck High School.
May he rest in peace.

I am a 1968 THS graduate. I had Mr. DeLaney for College Bio my senior year. Prior to studying with him I had no idea what I wanted to study in college but after my year experiencing his expertise and devotion to the field and his students, I headed off to Lafayette to be a bio major. Upon graduation I worked as a field biologist for several years before moving on to a 35 year career in the biomedical industry. I owe a significant amount of credit to Mr. DeLaney for the success I achieved in my career. My mother taught at THS for many years during his tenure as principal and I stopped in and visited with him many times and he always made time to talk with me. RIP Mr. D.

I am a 1968 graduate of THS. I had Mr. DeLaney for College Bio my senior year. He was a truly inspirational teacher, so much so that I became a Bio major at Lafayette College and followed that with a 40 year career in Biology. RIP Mr. D.

He was a wonderful and thoughtful principal. I graduated from THS in ‘81 and truly remember him as passionate about his community, school, staff, students and parents. He once told my mom that the band director had every right to request that I stay for marching band rehearsal and the doctor could wait!! She agreed with him!!
