Jeffrey Kinder

Jeffrey Kinder, 54, of Union Beach, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011, after a year-long battle with brain cancer.

He was born in Passaic, grew up in Bloomfield and later lived in Livingston and West Orange. A graduate of Bloomfield High School, he attended the Boston Conservatory of Music and was an accomplished drummer, playing in numerous groups and dozens of clubs throughout New Jersey over the last four decades, from his first group in grammar school, the Underground Light Bulb Company, in the late 1960's, to his most recent group, the Jeff Kinder Band. He worked as a sales representative for Source One Medical. He loved to surf and fish, tend his garden and cook.

The son of Lewis Lospaluto and the late Norma Kinder Lospaluto, and of the late Joseph Kinder, he is survived by his partner, Teresa Zappai, and his children Michael Kinder and Chelsea Kinder of Parsippany. He was the brother of Craig Lospaluto and his wife Bridget, of Aberdeen, and Lisa Magnatta and her husband James of Nutley, and nephew of Dawn Lospaluto and the Honorable George Rohde Jr. and his wife Barbara, he is survived by his niece and nephew, Kristen and Anthony Magnatta, his former wife Roseanne Kinder and many cousins and scores of friends who generously supported him through his illness.

The funeral was to be from the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Ave. on Thursday, Nov. 17. There was to be a funeral Mass celebrated St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Bloomfield. The internment was to be at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. Visitation was to be on Tuesday, Nov. 15 and Wednesday, Nov. 16.
