Joan Denu Obituary

DENU
Joan C., age 74, formerly of Upper Saddle River, died October 21 in Salisbury, Connecticut.
Raised in Tenafly, New Jersey, Mrs. Denu attended the Academy of the Holy Angels in Demarest and graduated from Endicott College in Massachusetts. She worked in the fashion industry in New York City before marrying the late Roger Denu. The couple lived in Upper Saddle River for over forty years, where they raised their family. Joan was a devoted daughter, mother and grandmother. She loved gardening, reading, Scottish terriers, and, especially in her final years, listening to music.
Joan is survived by her mother, Grace Cooper; her three children, Jacqueline Denu, Cynthia Denu-Ciocca, and Mark Denu; her brothers Robert Waide Cooper and John E. Cooper, Jr.; her in-laws Dr. Philip Denu and his wife Norma of Ridgewood; and her grandchildren, Sophia, Luke, John, Michael, Henry, Gabrielle and Annabel.
Visiting will take place on Thursday, October 27, 2-4 PM at the Kenny Funeral Home, 41 Main Street, Sharon, CT. A memorial service will be celebrated at the Noble Horizons Chapel, 17 Cobble Road, Salisbury, CT on November 5 at 1:30 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Nursing Scholarship Fund, Noble Horizons, 17 Cobble Road, Salisbury, CT 06068-1501. Kenny Funeral Home has care of all arrangements.
