Joan Sackermann Obituary

SACKERMANN Joan (nee Reynolds), of Woodcliff Lake, NJ. On January 29, 2011 our beloved mother joined her husband Charlie to be with her Lord and Savior. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born May 16, 1933 in Newark, NJ to the late Leonard and the late Ann Reynolds. She was also predeceased by her sister Margaret and her brother, Leonard. Joan married Charlie in 1953 and they raised three daughters and one son together. She dedicated her life to raising her family and helping Charlie create a legacy in the communication world, the Alpine Tower Company, that they have passed down to their children. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and her trips to Atlantic City and Florida. She will be greatly missed by her surviving sister, Melita and her two brothers; John and James, her sister in-law Nina, her daughters, Nancy Taormina and her husband Anthony, Vernice Miller and her husband Joe, Kathy McGovern and her husband Kevin, son Chuck and his wife Michele and fourteen grandchildren, Jason, Melissa, Meghan, Rebecca and Kelsey Taormina, Kyle and Samantha McGovern, Neicie and Matthew Miller and Lindsay, Charlie, Taylor James and Mark Sackermann. Funeral Mass, 10 AM, on Friday, February 4, 2011 at Our Lady of Mercy R. C. Church, Park Ridge, NJ where Joan was a parishioner. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at the Robert Spearing Funeral Home Inc, 155 Kinderkamack Road Park Ridge, NJ. Interment in Cemetery of the Ascension, Monsey, NY. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Joan may be made to the Tri-Boro Ambulance Corp., P. O. Box 204, Park Ridge, NJ 07656 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9956.

So very sorry to hear of your mother's passing. My memories of her go back to Union City when I would visit my uncle and his family. I will remember her fondly as a kind and gentle person. My deepest sympathy, Joan (Papay) Stalb (Westwood, NJ)
