John Cooney Obituary
East Rutherford - John J. Cooney, 86, of East Rutherford for 56 years, passed away on January 8, 2021. For over 45 years, he worked for Thumann's Inc. in Carlstadt retiring as the Senior Purchasing Manager at the age of 65. John was a devoted family man. He was everyone's favorite uncle and all-around jokester. Beloved husband of the late Amalia "Molly" (nee Minervini) Cooney. Loving father of John Luke Cooney and his wife Debra, Nancy A. Joy and her husband William, Alice M. Cooney and the late William P. Cooney. Cherished grandfather of David Koger and his wife Erika, Jennifer Cooney, Dermot Joy and Amalia "Molly" Joy. John was the youngest of 15 siblings, he is predeceased by six brothers and nine sisters. The funeral will be departing from the Kimak Funeral Home, 425 Broad Street, Carlstadt on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 10:00 AM for a Funeral Mass in Assumption Church, Wood-Ridge at 10:30 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation Monday 4-7 PM. Masks are required and social distancing must be observed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association
