CLARK
Joseph A., Jr. died on May 9, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 30, 1917 in Hoboken, NJ to Joseph A. and Christina Clark.
Predeceased by his loving wife Virginia McGrath Clark, son, Joseph A. Clark, III and granddaughter Mary Angelica Clark, he is survived by Jamesine Clark (Joe III) of Ridgewood, Marilyn (and Tom) Burke of Cliffside Park, Virginia (and Terrence) Callahan of Sparta, Robert (and Mary) of Franklin Lakes, Patricia of Cliffside Park and Paul (and Carole) of Cliffside Park.
He is also survived by his brother Walter Clark of Long Branch, NJ and 15 loving grandchildren: Colleen Monahan, Maureen Gavigan, Brian Burke, Tom Burke, Tara Lisa, Megan Meyers, Kristin Callahan, Sean, Christian, Brendan, Marilee, Caitlyn, Kerry, Alexandra and Paul Clark. Survivors also include 11 great grandchildren: Kelly, Shannon, Erin, Patrick, Ryan, Abigail, Megan, Grace, Hunter, Olivia and Scarlett.
In the earlier years, Joe loved to ride horseback, swim and sail. Later in life he enjoyed playing the organ, singing and dancing at family gatherings and telling stories. He was a huge presence in his family's life and he will be truly missed.
Joe was a Cliffside Park Councilman and Borough Attorney for 30 years. He also was a trial attorney at the law firm of Liebowitz and Liebowitz, Esqs. in Englewood, NJ.
A graduate of John Marshall Law School and The Coast Guard Academy at New London, CT, he was particularly proud of his service to his Country during World War II as a Lieutenant in the Coast Guard with tours of duty in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans and the shores of Italy and North Africa.
Funeral from the A.K. Macagna Funeral Home 495 Anderson Ave., Cliffside Park, NJ on Wednesday May 14, 2014 at 9:15 AM thence to Epiphany RC Church, Cliffside Park, NJ, where a Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 AM. Entombment to follow at Madonna Mausoleum, Fort Lee, NJ. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4-8 PM.
