Joseph KOLODZEJ Obituary
Joseph Michael, Sr., 84, of Fair Lawn, NJ passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Garfield, NJ, he resided in Fair Lawn for over 50 years. He proudly served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. An accomplished musician who played guitar and the accordion, he enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with his dogs. Mr. Kolodzej was a former member of the Hawthorne Gospel Church. Prior to retiring, he owned and operated a Snap-On Tools business for more than 35 years. Previously, he was a manager with A & P in Glen Rock for many years.
Beloved husband of the late Pauline Kolodzej and Evelyn Kolodzej. Loving and devoted father of Joy and Michelle Kolodzej, Joseph Kolodzej, Jr., Robert Fanslau and wife Joanne, William Fanslau and the late Marion Kolodzej. Cherished grandfather of Robert Evan. Dear brother of Dorothy Sprich. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday, July 12, 2015, 1-5 PM at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ, 201-797-3500. A funeral service is planned for Monday, July 13, 2015, 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Saddle Brook.
