Laurie Vergnes Obituary

VERGNES
Mrs. Laurie, 54, of Oakland, NJ passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 20, 2015.
The devoted daughter of Nathan Reiner and the late Arlene (Nesses) Reiner, she was born December 18, 1960 in Brooklyn. Her family moved to Orangeburg, NY where she spent her formative years. She was the wife of Robert Vergnes with whom they shared thirteen wonderful years of marriage. Laurie worked at the Sheraton Crossroads in Mahwah for over eighteen years.
In addition to her husband, Robert, Laurie is survived by her daughter, Jacquelyn; stepchildren, Alexandria and Christian; a brother, Jerry (Lisa) Reiner and their children, Iris and Caroline; her sister, Judy (Louis) Hurban and their daughter, Jessica.
Laurie was a loving daughter, wife, mother and aunt. She will be deeply missed.
Laurie was laid to rest on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Beth-El Cemetery in Paramus, NJ. To honor Laurie's memory, Memorial Donations can be made to The American Breast Cancer Foundation, 10400 Patuxent Parkway, Columbia, MD 21044.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hellman Memorial Chapels, 15 State St, Spring Valley, NY 10977. 845-356-8600.

I just visited the Sheraton Crossroads this year and asked for Laurie since I did not see her at the hostess desk at the Sheraton Crossroads. i just heard the worst possibel news of her death. She was one of the people that I looked forward to seeing on my many trips to NJ on business. She will be truly missed!! Rest in peace, Laurie! You left us way too soon. Your kindness made an impression on so many!
