Lorraine Young Obituary

YOUNG Lorraine T., on September 15, 2008 of Lawnside, NJ formerly of Fort Lee, age 40. Lorraine was born in New York City, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, and worked as the Executive Director of Food and Beverage for Spirit Cruises.Devoted daughter to Robert and Rosaleen Young. Loving sister to Cynthia Munoz, Anthony, Edward, and January Young. Lorraine is also survived by her nieces Brooke Munoz and Carolina Rose Young , her nephew and godchild Daniel Munoz, and godchild Hunter James. She also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral from the A.K. Macagna Funeral Home, 495 Anderson Ave., Cliffside Park, NJ on Monday September 22, 2008 at 9:15am thence to Madonna R.C. Church, Ft. Lee, NJ where a Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00am. Entombment to follow at Madonna Mausoleum, Ft. Lee, NJ. Visiting hours Saturday 7-9pm and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9pm.

As many have already said, Lorraine was one of a kind. Behind a strong exterior was the most giving and understanding friend I have ever had. I thank God above that in weeks prior to her death, I was able to spend time with her and I will remember that great weekend, and cherish the years she was my friend.

Lorraine was renting my house in Baltimore at the time of her passing. I was shocked and very saddened by the news of her passing. I never had the pleasure of meeting her face to face.We spoke many times on the phone during the year she lived in my house and she sent me cards on holidays. She was an exceptional tenant, paying the rent early most months. I was suppose to meet her for the first time the week she died, because I was making a small renovation in the kitchen. I am so very sad I will not get that chance.

I worked with Lorraine at Spirit of NY a long time ago and all i have are memories, good ones. She was a tough cookie & made good cookies , too. But she was a funny cookie most of all. :o) I have no doubt you have wonderful memories to hold onto which will give you strength thru these difficult times.

It was an honor and pleasure to have know and worked with Lorraine for the 12 years I was at Spirit HQ. I have many wonderful memories of her great sense of humor; how she would laugh at herself over computers; tease me over accounting; loved Starbucks; had the strength to stand up for what she believed was right and wrong; great stories of trips to Ireland; making dinners and keeping her team in line. I am so sorry for your loss. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I will miss her.

Lorraine was both a friend and a client. Her standards of excellence exceeded mine, when I thought mine were the limit. The 'soft' side of her revealed a sweet, loving, compassionate human being that you looked forward to engaging with. I and my staff will miss both the business Lorraine and the casual Lorraine.
