Dear Preolo Family,

I learned of Manny's passing just last night and am deeply saddened. I had been thinking about him a lot lately too and had been sharing stories with my husband about my years running track with Manny as my coach.

Words cannot describe what Manny (Coach Preolo) meant to me. He was my coach, my mentor, my friend...I performed to levels on the track that were really beyond my natural abilities because of what he instilled in me -- confidence and the will to win -- no matter who the competition was or how tall they were! He taught me to believe in myself. I will never forget when I won the indoor State Hurdle Championship and he was so thrilled, he pulled me out of class to give me a huge hug! That's the way Manny was - always happy for others' success.

I have so many great memories and funny stories -- too many to share now. But they will remain in my mind and my heart forever. Manny made my four years running track and at CPHS some of the best years of my life. I will never forget him.

I am so sorry that I missed his wake and funeral. I would have been there. But please know that Manny was an amazing person and I thought of him often and foundly over the years. He left this earth much too soon, and will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace and may God bless him and your family.

With deepest sympathy,

Mary (Samori) Moran

Mr. Preolo was a good man and may he RIP. I had him as guidance couselor and he helped me in getting into the field that I really liked and am still in that field today. I remember him doing the impossible for me and getting me switched out of Ms Zingler's class, which she swore no one could ever do, but he did! Again my condolences to his family.

Hi Mr. Preolo,
When I came back two years ago to CP where I had left for college in 1970 it was you that remembered me at the Hall of Fame dinner.
You were one of the best teachers that I had in school. You taught me great love of science in a time when girls did not take those courses. You encouraged me and told me to keep studying...and I did. You were funny, fair, knew when to be tough, gave kids that needed it a break and inspired girls like me with high ambitions to go far. Thank you for this direction. You were a great baseball coach to my older brother Victor. You will be remembered and missed by all of us, Manny.

RIP.

Respectfully,
