Mariamma JOY Obituary
Mariamma (nee Varghese), age 70, of Bergenfield, passed away November 18, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Beloved wife of Chirathalattu K. Joy, devoted mother of Jity Varghese and husband Pramod, Jinu Joy. Cherished grandmother of Steven Varghese. Also survived by two brothers and three sisters, all in India, and many nieces and nephews.
Mariamma was born in Kottayam, India and came to the U.S. in 1981, residing in New York City prior to moving to Bergenfield. She was a registered nurse at Fort Tryon Nursing Home, New York City for 26 years, retiring in 2009.
The Funeral Service will be offered Monday, 11 AM, St. Mary's Syriac Orthodox Church, Bergenfield. Interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY. The family will welcome friends Sunday, 3-8 PM at St. Mary's Syriac Orthodox Church. THERE IS NO VISITATION AT THE FUNERAL HOME.
Those wishing to send a floral tribute may send it directly to St. Mary's Syriac Orthodox Church, 173 North Washington Ave., Bergenfield, on Sunday no earlier than 11 AM and no later than 2 PM.
Arrangements entrusted to the Frech Funeral Home, Dumont.
