Martin NADLER Obituary

NADLER Martin S. Commemorating the passing of a great, well-loved and respected man...the Nadler family mourns Martin S. Nadler of Paramus, NJ, who passed away after a two month illness, on the 30th day of May, 2009. Born on the 20th of May, 1918, in Cincinnati, OH to Minnie Krumbein and Samuel Nadler, the second of four sons. He was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and received his law degree from the University of Cincinnati Law School. He served in World War II from 1941-1946, as Captain in the U. S. Army Corps and was part of the D-Day invasion forces which overtook Normandy, France. Captain Nadler was defense council in the first court marshallings of U. S. soldiers on foreign soil. He was later stationed in Belgium, where he was in charge of 1,000 prisoners of war. Well liked by his German prisoners, he had them build an officers club, and utilizing his prisoners other talents, he created an orchestra approved by General Dwight D. Eisenhower. Upon release from the military, he returned to civilian life and entered into shoe manufacturing in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Martin was one of the founding members of Temple Beth Or in Washington Township. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Scullion Nadler, his son Dr. Reldan and Juli Nadler of Santa Barbara, CA, his daughter Nancy Nadler and Lawrence Brown of Boxborough, MA, his son Ivan Francis Nadler of Fairfax, CA, nine nieces and nephews and so far four grandchildren, Michael Brown, Katharine Brown, Dillon Nadler and McKensey Nadler, his brother, Dr. Gerald and Elaine Nadler of Pacific Palisades, CA, his brother Melvin and Margie Nadler of Cincinnati, OH and preceded in death by his older brother Joseph and sister-in-law Louise Nadler. Services to be held Tuesday, 11 AM, at his home in Paramus. Interment at George Washington Cemetery, Paramus.
