Mary Rettstatt Obituary
Pompton Plains - Mary Lou Rettstatt (nee Bixler), age 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 29th. Born in Wauseon, OH, she was the daughter of Calvin and Loah Bixler. Prior to moving to Pompton Plains, NJ in 2012, she resided in Doylestown, PA, Kinnelon and Ringwood, NJ.
She was a talented artist, an avid gardener, and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She married Charles (Chuck) Rettstatt in 1956. A loving mother, she leaves behind her daughter Robin O'Hearn (Bill) of Ringwood, and sons Mark (Kimberly) of New Castle, NH .and Bruce (Julie) also of Ringwood. She was a devoted grandmother to Emily, Pierce, Olivia, Molly, Melanie and Maddie. She is also survived by a sister, Lois Germann of Napoleon, OH, many nieces and nephews and numerous friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Chuck, and by her sisters, Vivian, Dana, Evelyn and a brother, Calvin.
Prior to retiring in 1996, Mary Lou was a Real Estate agent for Coldwell Banker. A private memorial service is planned. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. www.michaeljfox.org.
