How sad that I learn of Matthew's death..i was just googling my SHU friend who was also one of my groomsmen in 1972...the Mickey mouse watch was his trademark...his uncle Rocco Misurell was my physics teacher at Vailsburg, his Aunt Lillian Lago was my homeroom teacher...such a small world...a little more sad today....

Matt was a good friend to me throughout our four years together at Seton Hall. He was fun loving, witty and always, always himself. I remember long conversations punctuated by laughter, trips into Manhattan to visit Tiffany's and Rockefeller Center, his cheerleading, invitations to elegant side porch luncheons at his family home in North Haledon, his impeccable calligraphy, his excitement at his first apartment on Park Avenue, and yes, his Mickey Mouse watch. I still prize a watercolour of Central Park that he painted for my 21st birthday. He was a man of many talents, and I'm glad to have so many fond memories. Rest in peace, Matt.

Matt, So many memories of you at Seton Hall. Your humor, what fun we had. The first time I met you, when you showed us your Micky Mouse watch. When we were sophomores and participated in freshman orientation. Not sure how those freshmen survived us. You lived a rich life and achieved a lot. Such sad news. Nancy Mehegan

Matt and I grew up and went to school together in North Haledon, our parents were friends, and he was a groomsman in my wedding in 1971. We lost track of each other through the years but I remember him as always being a fun loving guy with a quick wit. He lived his dream of being a lawyer and living on Park Ave! So sad to hear of his passing. My sympathy to those he left behind.

I only knew Matthew a short time, as a fellow attendee at the Wednesday HE at St. Paul's. He was very welcoming of me as a new member of that group and I will never forget his razor-sharp humor and wit. So sad to hear of his untimely passing. I bet he is both entertaining and challenging Jesus personally right now!

We grew up in the same small town, North Haledon, and I was a year behind him in school. He was my favorite "cool" cousin and I really enjoyed it when our families would get together. He was gregarious, always the life of the party and was always able to make me laugh. He marched to the beat of a different drummer. I remember when he gave me his copy of the Beatles 1965 album, because unlike almost everyone at the time, he didn't care for them. In school, he starred in many stage productions and had a real flair for comedy. I believed he would become an actor-he was that good. I think he was able to successfully use this talent as an attorney. Sadly, as we grew up, we grew apart, and I moved away from the area. Hearing of his passing today was a shock. My condolences go to his brother Jack and family.

Love always, Ginny
