Caggiano Family:
I go a long way back with Michael.
First, I remember taking obituaries at the Montclair News Bureau of the Newark Evening News from him and his father.
Second, Mike was a first baseman at Montclair High School a few years behind me and I do not recall if he directly succeeded me at that position, but it was close.
Third, in reverse, Mike played Montclair Sunday morning softball for a team called "The Uncles." I think he retired in 1978, and I became his successor. We often joked about that.
Mike was a supporter of the Wm. J. Morton Jr. Foundation Golf Tournament, which I, as chairman, appreciated. After reading his obituary, it is clear that Mike was a supporter of many service and charitable organizations. That is because he was a good guy with a huge heart.
Michael Caggiano -- may be rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to the entire Caggiano family. I had the pleasure of knowing Michael through the answering service years ago. He always made me laugh and vise-versa. Many times I think of the people I met talking to them through the service and he was one of them. He will be missed.

Dear Mrs. Caggiano, P.J. and Michael,
I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many wonderful memories of the time we spent at Montclair Beach Club with your dad. He was such a personality...always lighting up a room with his smile, kindness and wit. I'll never forget the many sets of tennis we played. It was epic ball busting and great fun. He loved competing and giving it to us kids.
Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
With warmest regards,
Jim Russo
