MYRON ADLER

With great admiration and affection, the Board of Trustees and staff of The Arnold P. Gold Foundation (APGF) remember Myron (Mike) Adler, beloved husband of devoted trustee, Elaine Adler. Intelligent and wise, kind and caring, accomplished and remarkably humble, Mike was a champion in his industry and among his fellow human beings. His name and that of his company, Myron Manufacturing Corp., became synonymous with product excellence, business acumen and the highest ethical standards. Locally and abroad, innumerable diverse charitable endeavors have benefitted from Mike and Elaine's generosity, including their establishment of the Adler Center for Nursing Excellence at Ramapo College and the APGF-AACN Nursing White Coat Ceremony. At the heart of Mike's philanthropy has been a visionary determination to establish unique opportunities for individuals with aphasia to regain confidence, acquire life skills and enjoy social happiness. The Adlers created The Adler Aphasia Center in Maywood, NJ as a model which is currently being replicated nationally and internationally. We are grateful for the Adler family's leadership on behalf of Humanistic Healthcare, and for the many good deeds that are Mike Adler's legacy. With heartfelt condolences to Elaine, the children, the grandchildren and the entire family.

I first met Mr. & Mrs. Adler in 2005 when I started working for Myron's call center. Through Myron, I learned about the Adler Aphasia Center. I never really understood what they did, but you could see that they were helping a lot of people.

Last year, my wife Lori had a stroke and was in the hospital/rehab for 12 weeks. Once she was released and I felt she was ready, I knew I wanted her to go to Adler. She's been going for a year now and I don't have the words to express how much they've helped her. The Adler Aphasia Center is her second family.

Mr. Adler served with Gen. Patton in 3rd Army, maybe the most successful fighting force in our history. He came home and married the love of his life and started a beautiful family. Together, they created an amazingly successful business that has employed thousands over the years. If that was all he did in life, that would be an amazing legacy. Then Mr. Adler had his stroke.

It would have been easy to just worry about his recovery. Instead, Mr. & Mrs. Adler realized that there was very little research or targeted therapy for people with aphasia. By devoting their time and energy to this cause, they have helped so many people that would otherwise have been written off.

RIP Mr. Adler. You had a life well lived. You're ultimate legacy will be all the lives you've helped and will continue to help. God Bless You, and thank you!

What a man of substance!

My mom, Sophie Hamot, was employed at Myron Manufacturing in the '80's.

How she loved working for Myron and Elaine! She felt like family there because the Adlers made their employees feel like family!

I'm thinking some new "date keeping" is happening in Paradise as I write!
