Neva Burns Obituary

Neva Burns

Neva Burns, age 97 of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 6, 2017. She was born Neva Kornfeld in 1919 in Brooklyn, New York. Beloved aunt to Keith (and wife Barbara and son Steven) of Oradell; beloved great-aunt to Robin Cooper of Philadelphia, whose efforts on her behalf were truly appreciated. She was predeceased in 1964 by her husband Alex, who was born in Liverpool, with whom she worked at his hairdressing salon; her brother Arthur; and her parents Michael and Augusta. Neva had attended Arts School and it showed in her sense of fashion. She was proud of her beautiful red hair and she managed to keep it its "natural" color for an amazingly long time. An avid sports fan, she continued to enjoy watching games on television throughout her life, bemoaning the miserable performance of her Philadelphia Phillies baseball team until the end. A private burial service was held at Mount Hebron Cemetery in Queens. Her memory would be honored with donations to the charity of your choice.
