Peter E. Kelley

Ridgefield Park - Peter Edward Kelley, 62, of Ridgefield Park, unexpectedly passed away on October 8, after a heart attack. He was the cherished son of Katherine Klein Kelley and the late Reverend Dr. Robert J. Kelley of Cresskill. Peter was the devoted husband of Tracey (Propper) for 39 years. He was a loving father and father-in-law to David and Priyanka Ramamurthy Kelley and Aaron and Joanna Kelley. He was a wonderful brother to Jonathan Kelley (Tricia) and Elizabeth Shadbolt (Lindsay) and brother-in-law to Flip Bernard (Larry), and an amazing uncle to two nieces and five nephews. Born in Liberty, NY, Peter grew up in Cresskill. He graduated from Cresskill High School, earned his BA in Art from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT and his MFA from Pratt Institute in New York City. Peter's career as a Digital Project Management Executive spanned decades of experience at Fairchild Publications, Philips Electronics, Marvel Entertainment, Luminant Worldwide, and Ogilvy. Peter served as President of the Ethical Culture Society of Bergen County, NJ, where he was involved for more than 30 years in all aspects of the organization's mission and program. Peter will be remembered for his capable handling of challenging situations, his kindness to others, his commitment to social justice, and his unfailing optimism. A memorial service will take place at the Ethical Culture Society, 687 Larch Avenue, Teaneck, on Sunday, October 14, from 2:30-4:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the "Ethical Culture Society of Bergen County," by check to the address above.
