Ralph J. Mattiaccio

Ralph J. Mattiaccio, 93, of Mahwah, NJ formerly of West New York, NJ peacefully passed on to the Lord on August 26, 2018. Beloved son of Biase and Angelina, brother of Charles, Rose, Lucy, Phyllis and Antoinette. Ralph met the love of his life Josephine (nee DiPietro) in 1948 and was a devoted husband for 67 years. He was an industry leading entrepreneur in manufacturing embroidery, textiles and lace for the garment and fashion industry owning numerous factories whose operations spanned more than 70 years. Ralph built his businesses on the strength of his spiritual and family values and incomparable work ethic. In the later years he was joined in business by his wife, four sons and daughter. Ralph was a devoted and active Catholic who was a leading benefactor in the parishes of Our Lady of Libera, Immaculate Conception and Immaculate Heart of Mary. At Our Lady of Libera in West New York, he served as a two-time Grand Knight of the Madonna della Libera Knights of Columbus and was the long-standing president of the Holy Name Society. Upon moving to Mahwah in 1971 he became an active parishioner acting in various leadership roles at Immaculate Conception and later Immaculate Heart of Mary. Ralph is survived by his loving wife Josephine, seven children, Angela, Antonia, Blaise, Ralph Jr., Joseph, Victor and Antonino, 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Friday, August 31, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 11 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 47 Island Rd., Mahwah, NJ. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.
