Richard STANTON Obituary

STANTON Richard J., died on Monday, August 24, 2009. Born in Jersey City, he lived there for many years until moving to Lyndhurst, Wayne and then to Wyckoff. Richard was an insurance executive with Allstate Insurance Company until retiring in 1974. A parishioner of St. Elizabeth's RC Church of Wyckoff, he was a member of Serra International for over forty years and was a past president of the Paterson chapter. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society. Loving father of Richard and his wife Rosalie of Franklin Lakes, Joy Walker and her husband Richard of Franklin Lakes, and Tara Schiavo and her husband Jon of Wyckoff. Loving grandfather of Cristie Woodard, Julie Stanton, Richard P. Stanton, Elizabeth Walker, James Walker, Jon Schiavo, and Jennifer Schiavo. Great-grandfather of Charlotte, Alexa and Royal. Richard was predeceased by his beloved wife Estelle in 2006 and his three brothers: Patrick, Edward and James. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. A funeral mass celebrating Richard's life will take place on Thursday, 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth's RC Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff. Interment at Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes. Memorial Contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942, would be appreciated.

Dear Stanton family: What a wonderful gift to have celebrated your father/grandfather/father-in-laws 95th birthday together this past month. A great memory.
