Robert Huizer Obituary

HUIZER Robert, 72, of Renaissance, Manchester died Tuesday, October 14, at St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton. He was employed for over 40 years as a Marketing Director in the Aerospace Industry first with Singer-Kearfott, Totowa, then with GEC Aerospace, East Hanover, and finally with Breeze-Eastern Corporation, Union, before retiring in 1999. He served as President for the Bloomingdale Kiwanis Club. He was a member of the Renaissance Golf Club, the Passaic and Morris County Clubs, as well as the Renaissance Bocce Ball League, Manchester. Born in Paterson, he resided in Oakland for one decade, followed by 32 years in Butler, before moving to Manchester five years ago. He is recently predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Janet Marie Huizer, who died on August 26th of this year, one month after celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary. Surviving is his daughter and son in law, Cynthia J. (Huizer) and Michael Bamberger of Boca Raton, FL, as well as two sons and daughters in law, Gregory A. and Marlene Huizer of Ankeny, Iowa, and Robert D. and Jennifer Huizer of Trenton. Also surviving are two sisters, Dell Whitfield of Phoenix, AZ, and Jean Kowal of Bellflower, CA, and four grandchildren, Andrew, Ryan, Rebecca, and Ian; as well as brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert and Betty Peer of Dundee, NY. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th, from 5-7 PM at the Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester. A funeral service will be offered on Tuesday, October 21st, at 11:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial with Honors will follow at the Brigadier Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, please make all memorial donations in his name to the American Cancer Society, 1035 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ 08753.
