Robert Rasp

PEQUANNOCK — Services were held for Robert R. Rasp, 78, of the Pompton Plains area of this township, who died on Tuesday, February 9, 2016.

Born in Wallington, Mr. Rasp was raised in Clifton and lived in various towns including Wayne before moving to Pompton Plains in 2012. He was the vice president of electronic data processing audit with the Republic National Bank of New York. Previously, he had worked for Curtiss Wright Corp., A&P, and American Airlines. He had a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Fordham University. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Consolation Church, Wayne, and attended Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Pompton Plains, where he was a member of the choir. And, he was a veteran of the U.S. National Guard.

Services were Saturday at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, Wayne, followed by Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice of NJ, 400 Broadacres Drive, 1st Floor, Bloomfield, NJ 07003.

Mr. Rasp is survived by his wife, the former Rita Mafull; his daughter, Lisa Chalkan of Lincoln Park; his son, Jeffrey Rasp of Parsippany; his brother, Gary of California; and his grandchildren, Michael, Ingrid, Gisella, Adrianna, Justin, Gianna, and Braden.

He was predeceased by his parents, Herman and Stella; and his brothers, William and Rich.
