Rose Meskis Obituary
Rose Mazza Meskis, 98 3/4, completed her journey on June 24, 2018. She rejoined Charlie, the love of her life, her 10 siblings and her parents Carmela and Joseph Mazza. Rose was born weighing three pounds and conquered all the odds. Although her formal education was limited, she was an expert in many areas. While still in her teens, she worked sewing Army uniforms. Rose was an active volunteer in church and community groups. She was longtime president of the Mount Virgin Rosary Society and was co-founder and president of the AARP chapter of Garfield. She is survived by her daughter Theresa/John, Elizabeth/Tom. She leaves three grandchildren Christopher/Christine, Carlea/Mike and Thomas/Victoria. She is also survived by three great grandchildren, Cassandra, Christopher Jr. and Camila. The wake will be on Thursday, June 28th, from 4-8 pm at Santangelo Funeral Home in Lodi. The funeral will be Friday, June 29th, the beginning at Santangelo's at 10 am with a Mass at Mt. Virgin Church at 11 am. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Saddle Brook. Donations can be made to Saint Jude's Hospital and/or The Wounded Warrior Project.
