Salvatore Giammanco Obituary

GIAMMANCO
Salvatore "Semi," age 84, of Lodi, died on June 8, 2015. Born and raised in Bolognetta, Sicily-Italy, he came to America in 1966 living in Brooklyn for 4 years, Garfield for 10 years, and Lodi the past 35 years. He was the shop steward for the Printing Specialties and Paper Products Union, Local 447, NY, NY for 29 years retiring in 1996, he was a parishioner of Mt. Virgin Church, Garfield, and an avid reader of the newspaper. He was a member and past-president of the Immacolata Concezione, Garfield, member and past vice-president of the St. Anthony Society, Garfield, a member of the St. Giuseppe Society, Brooklyn, and an executive board member of the Com.It.Es Society, Newark. He was also a former member of the Italian-American Forum, Lodi. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Caterina (nee Benanti), a son, Angelo Giammanco, two daughters, Rosa Andreano and husband Nicholas, and Daniela Giammanco, and five grandchildren, Liliana and husband Bartlett, Daniel, William, Nicole, and Caterina. Dear brother of Pietro Giammanco and wife Santina. He is predeceased by his siblings, Giuseppina LaBarbera, Rosalie Cuccia, Giuseppe Giammanco, and Toto Guagenti. Visiting Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral is Friday, June 12, 2015, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 9 AM followed by a 10 AM mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Garfield. Entombment St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook. The Giammanco family is in the care of the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield (973-340-7077). Condolences/Directions visit aloiafuneral.com
