Samir Toss Obituary

TOSS - Samir Ayad, September 10, 1933 - March 13, 2005. Beloved husband of the reposed Victoria Azia Toss is survived by his children; Raafat S. Toss, Esq. and Vivian S. Toss, M. Arch. He was an educator for over 45 years, a librarian who established the first library system throughout Egypt's nationwide prisons and later added his expertise to New York University's Middle Eastern Studies Department, an Educational Media Specialist for the Newark Broad of Education for twenty-five years, an author of several books on Christianity, Islam, the Middle East, morality and culture and a ground-breaking book on Egypt's drug culture of the 1960's, an activist who longed to see the end of the persecution of Egypt's Coptic Christian minority and the establishment of their full rights under the law, a successful business man who used his MBA to work towards a better Jersey City, a moving poet in classical Arabic, and an eloquent speaker who inspired others, a vibrant member of his church, and a man who valued his family above all these. We remember his great smile, wisdom, kindness, generosity, intelligence and passion for faith in Christ. Thank you very much for your love that will always be with us. Friends may call at Alvarez-Marshello Funeral Home, 235 Ege Ave., Jersey City on March 15, 2005 from 6-9 PM. Funeral services at St. Mark Coptic Church, 427 West Side Ave., Jersey City on March 16, 2005 at 11 AM. "God has never left us, never."
